Reopening After Covid-19

Update: (June 29, 2020) Beginning Sunday, July 5th, we will offer two worship services at 9:00am and 10:30am. Phase Four New York State guidelines will allow for ~160 people per service with all of the previous guidelines remaining in place. Presently, we plan our services to run approximately 50 minutes in length. Our livestream will be available during the 10:30am service with a Kids Connection video segment to follow. We look forward to you joining us either in-person or online for worship on Sundays!

Greetings Pine Knolls Family! We’ve got some exciting updates for you about beginning to reopen Pine Knolls for Sunday Morning Worship Services. On June 6th, New York State announced that houses of worship could begin to meet at 25% occupancy effective immediately. Our leadership team has been meeting to pray and plan for how to most effectively and safely do this. Please see the following highlights below:

  • Beginning Sunday, June 14, we will reopen the facility for in-person worship services. The occupancy guidelines allow us to have services of ~110 people. We will offer 3 worship services at 8am, 9:30am, and 11am. Each will seat ~110 people and will be approximately 45-50 minutes long. You can expect an order of worship that maintains many of the normal elements (music, prayer, announcements, preaching) but without any communally touched elements, handshaking, etc. The facility will be sanitized in between each service. Additionally, there will be no children’s church offered for at least a few weeks. Kids Connection worship videos will continue to be offered online at pineknolls.net and our social media sites.
  • The Sanctuary will be set up for “social distance seating.” Our service hosts will be prepared to help you find a seat as you enter into the building. NYS Guidelines also require that masks or face-coverings be worn as you enter and traverse the building. Please wear your mask as you enter into the building and sanctuary.
  • Our online options will continue for those that are uncomfortable or not able to come back to in-person gatherings. We will begin livestreaming our 9:30am service each week, which will allow you to worship from home in real time with what’s happening in the sanctuary. The worship service video will then be available at any time afterwards. Both in-person and virtual worship are great options. We want you to feel comfortable in choosing whatever option works best for you and your family!

Our guiding principles are those of love for one another, honoring our governing authorities, and a sincere desire to worship together again. We hope that as a church family, we will grant each other extra measures of patience and grace as we feel our way through this the first couple of weeks.

With sincere love and appreciation for each of you!
– Pastor Andy
